Loop Dungeon

Dungeons... are often home to monsters and those cast aside by society. Thanks to their own unique rules, they are able to sustain life endlessly within their depths. But some dungeons are different. Rules do not apply to them.

When such dungeons are discovered, they are either sealed away or destroyed. In doing so, the creatures living inside are spared from the eternal torment awaiting them.

Those who take on this duty are called Rulemakers. They are usually chosen by the gods and sacrifice themselves to close these dungeons. Alone, they step inside and seal the dungeon from within.

From that very moment, only death is believed to await them.

At least, that is what the people believe.

The truth, however, has been heavily distorted.

A Rulemaker who enters a dungeon does not die until the dungeon’s rules are repaired. In fact, they cannot die. They are resurrected again and again, forced to endure the cycle until the laws of the dungeon are restored and the monsters within finally find peace.

Only then does the Rulemaker attain peace as well... by ending their own life in a tragic final act.

But what would you do if you found yourself trapped in a dungeon with no end? Alone. Unable to truly die, endlessly resurrecting after every death... while being forced to fight the previous versions of yourself.

That is exactly what happens to our protagonist.
